Monday update

This weekend my fiance Sarah and I went over to her cousin Julie's place here in Pasadena for a get-together. Sarah's aunt and uncle were there, as well as Julie's boyfriend and his daughter, who happens to be a French library student. She's here for a couple months, working at the Anaheim library. I'm not exactly sure how the evening went, because anytime she had something negative to say, she spoke to her father in French. I know she bad-mouthed the cheese Julie put out, but beyond that, I was in the dark.

Another set of foreign-language experiences last night. Sarah's new favorite TV show is "Lure of wife," this weird drama on one of the Korean channels we get with the DTV box now. This time around, the woman who faked her own death began making "natural soap" to make ends meet while her ex-husband's evil new fiance began shopping for the world's most hideous wedding dresses. This show was followed by the final installation of "Connect with English" on KLCS. The best part of the show is the "review and discuss" section at the end, wherein an ESL class speak about the events. Often highly entertaining.
